yeodenure : i will try... so far i found the VN5500PC which is going for RM299 (might as well say RM300!!). The VN5500 is RM199 compared to the VN5500PC but the VN5500 dun hv USB so cannot burn to CD. The "PC at the back of the ,model number means it can be connected to the personal computer.
littlelighthouse: Ummm first there was the pearlcorder/mini cassette recorder, then the minidisc recorder... and now a solid state recorder with no moving parts... think reporters or what people will use to take down lecture notes...
ya i need one with a real good mic and designed for voice recording cos i want to do a lot of interviews. sort of like if you need a good camera for print production quality pics you don't use a mobile phone. :)

you can use mp3 player(with internal mic) to record and confirm has usb connection.
